Buddha

A figured bracket depicting a buddha. The cornice consists of a carinated band and fillet, both plain. The top face shows vertical tool marks. The buddha is sitting in padmāsana on an open lotus flower with upturned petals. The figure is in dhyānamudrā and wrapped in the saṃghāti with covered hands and feet. He has a round body-halo and a nimbus, both plain. The latter has a branch of an indistinct tree emerging from both sides.
