Adoration of the relics
A figured base of a statue originally depicting a standing Buddha, of which only the feet are preserved. The base consists of a pair of superimposed plain fillets, the cornice of a projecting fillet overlapping a row of saw-teeth. All the elements continue on the sides of the base, where a straight palmette is also found.
The figurative field shows the Adoration of the relics framed by two Gandharan-Corinthian columns with a torus base. In the middle is a throne with a canopy, turned legs, and a drape falling on the front. On the throne is a globular, flattened relic casket resting on a cushion. On each side there is a monk turning towards the throne, the one on the right has joined hands, the one on the left is holding an indistinct object in the right hand, and a hem of the saṃghāti in the left.
