Buddha

A statue depicting the Buddha. The back face shows tool marks. The Buddha is sitting in padmāsana on a low seat with turned legs, a drape hanging from the front, and possibly grass. He is in dhyānamudrā. The figure is wrapped in the saṃghāti with covered feet and a V-shaped neckline. The drapery is rendered in well-spaced, rounded ridges. He has closed eyes, a large nose, and a small mouth. The hair is rendered with continuous vertical waves and with not separate uṣṇīṣa. The nimbus was possibly plain.
