Monks

Part of a cornice preserving two monks. The base consists of a projecting plain fillet, the cornice of two superimposed projecting plain fillets and of a projecting plain band. The monks are separated by a pilaster of the Gandharan-Corinthian type. The scene is encased on the right by a vertical, framed row of half-rosettes within filleted opposite triangles. A rectangular tenon is preserved on the bottom face. The back face shows marks of chisel. The monks are shown in a three-quarter view with joined hands.
