Buddha and devotees
Part of a relief preserving a buddha with devotees. On the left, the scene is framed by a half column of the Gandharan-Corinthian type featuring a short flute and a flower. A rectangular tenon is carved on the top face. The back face shows vertical tool marks.
In the centre, a buddha is standing frontal. His right hand is in abhayamudrā, the left is holding an edge of the saṃghāti. He has a plain nimbus. On the left, a male figure is standing in semi-profile towards the buddha. His hands are joined. He wears a paridhāna, an uttarīya, a skull-cap turban, earrings, and wristlets with raised edges. The remains of a second devotee are discernible on the right.
