Buddha
A stele statue depicting the Buddha. The back face shows horizontal marks of chisel.
The Buddha is sitting in padmāsana and dhyānamudrā on a four-legged backless throne. The face is plump with almond-shaped half-closed eyes, a broad nose, and a thin mouth. The hair is rendered in vertical broken waves converging at the center, with no separate uṣṇīṣa. The figure is wrapped in the overrobe with covered hands and feet, and an oval neckline. The drapery folds are rendered in a pattern of dense lines.
