Mundane scene
A figured cornice representing couples at the balcony. There are some scattered toolmarks on the back. On the top there is a socket for cramp at each end; next to the one on the right there is an x-shaped mark. The base and the cornice are plain fillets.
The parapet of the balcony is rendered by a chequered grid with alternating relief squares; two drapes are hanging from the parapet. At the balcony appear four male/female couples separated by the upper part of a semi-column of the Gandharan-Corinthian type. In each couple there is a female figure on the right and a male figure holding a drinking vessel on the left. The female figures all wear a large flat necklace and have parted wavy hair. The male figures wear a tunic of exomis type and have the hair arranged in curls framing the face.
