Buddha and devotees
Part of a cornice showing a buddha and devotees. The cornice preserves four projecting brackets featuring a fillet and a vertical central groove. A socket rectangular in section is carved in the top face. The same face shows vertical tool marks.
In the figured field, a buddha with two female devotees are carved in bust each under a voluted round arch with carinated extrados. A rosette is depicted in between the arches.
The buddha is frontal with the right hand in abhayamudrā. He has a plain nimbus, curly hair, globular eyes, and a moustache. He is flanked by two female figures turning towards him and with joined hands. They both wear a large wreath.
A framed square panel bisected into triangles, each containing a smaller triangle is depicted on the extreme left. The same motif is found on the proper left side of the relief.
