Buddhas
Part of a relief depicting a series of meditating buddhas between trees. The base consists of a plain fillet; the cornice includes two plain fillet, the upper one slightly projecting. On the back there are remnants of vertical parallel flat chisel marks. On the bottom face, at both ends, there is a horizontal socket, next to the one on the right there are two short vertical parallel lines, and in the centre a large x-shaped mark.
On the figured field there are five identical buddhas. The buddhas sit in dhyānamudrā and padmāsana on a low seat covered with grass, wrapped in the saṃghāti with covered hands and feet. Their hair is pulled back in locks with separated uṣṇīṣa. The buddhas are separated by small trees with upward branches and lanceolate leaves.
