Bodhisattva
A stele statue depicting a bodhisattva, possibly Maitreya. The back show tool marks.
The standing bodhisattva was originally in abhayamudrā while the left hand possibly held the kamaṇḍalu, traces of which seem to be discernible over the proper left edge of the paridhāna. The head is lost, there are remnants of wavy locks of hair on the shoulders.
He wears an uttarīya on the left arm, the frontal curve passes under the shoulder loop to end in a tassel hanging behind, leaving the paridhāna’s girdle exposed. The paridhāna falls in pointed ends. The figure is adorned with a short flat band necklace decorated with a row of alternating triangles, a long necklace with multiple strands and horned monster head endings facing a central stone, a long cross-piece to the right shoulder with multiple strands of pearls converging to a stud placed on the upper arm, a crossed cord passing under the right armpit with kavacas, and a lobed armlet on the right arm; remnants of a large earrings are visible on the right shoulder.
