Buddhas
Fragment of a relief, possibly a cornice, originally depicting a row of buddhas, of which only a figure and the partial outline of another one are preserved. The base is plain, the cornice consists of two projecting and superimposed fillets. The back face shows vertical tool marks. Drawing lines are seen on the top face.
The buddha is sitting on a low seat in padmāsana and dhyānamudrā. He is wrapped in the saṃghāti with hands and feet covered. He has globular eyes and hair possibly parted in the middle with continuous, vertical waves from a peak over the forehead. The uṣṇīṣa is separated. The figures were separated by a tree spreading upwards, of which only scanty traces remain.
