Buddha; Maitreya and devotees
A stele statue depicting the Buddha.
The base features a projecting cornice, the bottom face of which is decorated with a row of ogival upright leaf-and-dart. The front face shows a scene depicting Maitreya and devotees. The bodhisattva is sitting frontally on a low seat with turned legs and a drape hanging from the front. His right hand is in abhayamudrā, the left is holding the kamaṇḍalu. He wears a paridhāna, an uttarīya, and a long necklace. On both sides, a devotee is kneeling towards him. They both have joined hands, and wear a paridhāna and an uttarīya (that of the right figure is passing over his left arm) and earrings. The figure on the right also wears a long necklace.
The bottom face preserves a vertical rectangular tenon. This latter has tool marks.
The Buddha is standing frontally, the weight of the body is placed on his left leg. His right hand was in abhayamudrā, his left is holding an edge of the saṃghāti. The overrobe has a round neckline.
His face is plump and shows a circular ūrṇā, half-closed eyes, a big nose, and a small full mouth. The hair is rendered with vertical rows of waves. The uṣṇīṣa is separate and tied by a plain string at its base. The field of the nimbus is decorated with a radiate full-blown lotus with a double corolla.
