Buddhas

A curvilinear cornice depicting three buddhas. The moulded base is decorated with a row of pipal leaves with intermediate round elements. The projecting cornice is bracketed. The top face shows two rectangular sockets and drawing lines. The figured field preserves three buddhas sitting in padmāsana and dhyānamudrā each inside a voluted round arch with a frame decorated with a row of saw-teeth and pendant grapes. The buddhas are wrapped in the overrobe covering hands and feet. They have a plain nimbus. The figures are separated by a semi-column of the Gandharan-Persepolitan type with modillion, the top of which is decorated with a raw of saw-teeth.
