Buddha and devotee
A figured harmikā belonging to a little stūpa. The base is plain, the cornice is carved with a row of ogival leaves pointing up. A circular hole for the pinnacle is drilled in the centre. The top surface shows drawing lines.
The figured field depicts a buddha with a devotee. The scene is encased between two pilasters of the Gandharan-Corinthian type featuring a moulded base and a short flute with convex lower bevelled end and concave upper bevelled end on the shaft.
The buddha is sitting in padmāsana and dhyānamudrā on a seat and under the canopy of a tree whose type cannot be discerned. His eyes are globular, his hair is parted in the middle with continuous, vertical waves from a peak over the forehead. The uṣṇīṣa is separated. The figure is wrapped in the overrobe with covered hands and feet.
On the left, a male figure is standing in a tree-quarter view with joined hands. He wears a paridhāna and an uttarīya.
