Buddhas

Part of a drum of small stūpa depicting buddhas in meditation. On the top there is a rectangular socket perpendicular to the right end, and remnants on another socket on the opposite end. The back of the piece is part of the drum central hole, the inner surface bears large chisel marks. The projecting base includes a plain fillet and a torus. The cornice is a plain fillet. The relief depicts six buddhas seated in padmāsana and dhyānamudrā, they are all wrapped in the overrobe with covered hands and feet, and they have a plain nimbus. The buddhas have the hair parted in the middle in broken waves with separated uṣṇīṣa. The buddhas are separated by a vegetal element: the first on the right is a stylised branch with large flowers (?), while the other five dividing elements are intertwined branches with lanceolate leaves.
