Buddha

Fragment of a relief representing Buddha. There are tool-marks on the back of the relief. Buddha, of which only the head has been preserved, is depicted with semi-closed eyes, a short nose, and thin lips. He has long ear lobes. He has hair with vertical rows of waves and separate uṣṇīṣa. Above his head looms a looped garland, to his left there is what is probably a tree branch. The right of the relief depicts part of a pediment with a plain sloping cornice and a row of saw-teeth on the sima. Only a small part of the plain entablature is still visible. Besides the pediment there is a railing whose cornice is decorated with lozenges.
