Female figure

A Gandharan-Corinthian capital of pilaster depicting a female figure. A rectangular socket is carved in the bottom face. The back face shows vertical tool marks. Two rosettes originally stemming from the kalathos lips are carved on the moulded abacus. The female figure, shown frontally in bust and with the head turning to her right, is emerging from the upper central acanthus leaf. Her right hand was raised holding an unidentified object. She possibly wears a sleeved garment, and has a short necklace.
