Last Existence: Visit of the Ascetics
Fragment of a relief probably depicting the Visit of the Ascetics. The scene is bordered by framed semi-columns, of which only the lower part of that on the right is preserved. The base was plain.
In the figured field are two ascetics, both headless, and the scanty remains of a third one. They are all standing in right three-quarter view and holding a kamaṇḍalu in the left hand. The first figure is raising his right hand [gesture of conversation], while the second is touching his shoulder with his hand. They are all wearing a short dhotī.
